Overview of ISIN Generation

An ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) is a unique 12-character code that identifies a company's securities. Before shares can be dematerialised and held in electronic form, the company must obtain an ISIN by registering its securities with a depository (NSDL / CDSL) through a Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA).

Under the Companies (Prospectus and Allotment of Securities) Rules, every company (other than a small company / government company) is required to dematerialise its securities and obtain an ISIN. We coordinate with the RTA and depository, prepare the tripartite agreement and complete the ISIN activation end-to-end.
