The Authorized Economic Operator - Limited Operational (AEO-LO) certification is an expert program administered by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). In contrast to the conventional AEO-T1/T2/T3 credits, AEO-LO is intended for businesses that wish to indicate the adherence and stability of their operations to specific functions or restricted segments of their global business.
It is a certification best suited to businesses that are not eligible to be considered a full AEO, yet would like to enjoy the benefits of customs facilitation and be regarded as a trusted trading partner in some of their operations. AEO-LO offers a channel through which businesses build up compliance, accounting, and security systems to proceed to the next level of AEO.
Our end-to-end advisory business is a service designed to facilitate the application and certification of AEO-LO.
AEO-LO certification is appropriate where an organization might not yet be fit to fully satisfy AEO, but shows the following:
Trade and operational data provide insights into the activities and economic framework of the target market (XYZ), as well as its governmental authorities. Trade and Operational Information: Trade and operational information is the data that informs us about the operations and economic structure of the target market (XYZ) and the government authorities.
• Import/export books of the given area of operation.
• Organizational structure and people in charge of operations.
Step 1: Readiness Assessment: Readiness compliance and limited accounting operations readiness.
Step 2: Gap Analysis and Improvement: Identify the weaknesses in the selected operational processes.
Step 3: Process Improvement: Enhance accounting, audit, and governance.
Step 4: Document Preparation—Prepare documentation as substantiated and needed to be submitted.
Step 2: Sending of application: The AEO-LO is filed with the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
Step 6: Customs Verification: Customs authorities verify the selected operations, either remotely or on-site.
Step 7: Certification Grant: AEO-LO status is granted upon successful verification.
Step 8: Post-Certification Monitoring: Monitoring of compliance to sustain certification.
AEO-LO certification provides entry for businesses that intend to demonstrate the compliance and reliability of their operations without having to satisfy all AEO criteria. It allows companies to automate certain business operations, enhance accounting transparency, and earn the trust of customs authorities.
Through professional advisory and accounting assistance, companies will be able to obtain the AEO-LO certification and progress through the AEO levels in stages, becoming much more efficient in their operations and gaining the credibility of global trade.
